Portrait Frank Sinatra (2011)
Frank Sinatra also known as The Voice (1915 -1998). He died from a heart attack at the age of 82. His last words were: "I'm losing", referring to his fight to stay alive. Oil painting on canvas 30 x 40 cm. For sale.

The King of Rock 'n' Roll (1935 – 1977). Elvis officially died of a heart attack. It's also plausible that he died of a drug overdose prescribed by his doctor. Oil painting on canvas 30 x 40 cm. For sale.
Portrait Bob Marley (2011)
Bob Marley (1945 – 1981) was called “The King of Reggae”. In 1977 his toe was injured. When the injury didn't recover, skin cancer was diagnosed. The cancer spread to his stomach, and later on to his lungs and brains. He died at the age of 36. Oil painting on canvas 30 x 40 cm. For sale.

Portrait of the lead singer of the band Queen. Freddy Mercury (1946 – 1991) died of pneumonia as a consequence to aids. Oil painting on canvas 30 x 40 cm. For sale.

Portrait of “The King of Pop”. Michael Jackson (1958 -2009) died of cardiac arrest. His doctor prescribed him an overdose of drugs. Michael often feared for a death similar to Elvis's. Oil painting on canvas 30 x 40 cm. For sale.

(second place public prize Picturama 2013). One of my favourite paintings. See the youthful look in his eyes. It looks like a painting in grey tones but it actually consists of the colors brown, red, blue, black and white. Oil painting on canvas 60 x 80 cm including frame. For sale.

The background was made of vacation photos from France. I photographed the children later and combined the pictures in a painting. Oil painting on canvas 70 x 100 cm.

I made this painting for the competition “Talens Palet 2011”. If you look closely you can see writer Tommy Wieringa and singer David Bowie. Oil painting on canvas 85 x 55 cm.
Portrait Familie (2010)
In this age of hurrying we often forget what's truly important. I entered this painting in the competition “Het vierkante ei”. One of the jury members approached me later and told me it was too bad I wasn't with the finalists. A nice compliment which, to me, meant that I was succesful. Oil painting on canvas 80 x 100 cm.
Painting Awakening (2009)
The idea for this painting came from a painting by the artist John Everett Millais (1829 - 1896). This artist is a big source of inspiration for me. Oil painting on canvas 70 x 100 cm.
